They come and go
People come into our lives in different times, for different reasons.
Some stay a while until your paths separate, some cross your path for a short time to be there or because they needed you there for a life lesson.
Some join you and walk a parallel path and even while the paths appear further apart, you still walk the same direction and maintain a distant friendship.
A true friend is one who knows you inside out and no matter how far geographically, or how long the silence between phone calls, when you resume communication, it’s like you just talked yesterday.
I learned not to hold on to friends, but to let friendship take its course. If a friendship ends, I am grateful for the time and move on.
I used to sadden over lost friendships, but life has taught me to let go and know that each one had a reason to be and a purpose in my life.
